One of ICGEBnet’s main goals is to disseminate bioinformatics knowledge through courses and workshops. The bioinformatics courses held at ICGEB Trieste since 1990 provided training to over 1300 students from ICGEB signatory countries and have one of the longest traditions in Europe. The annual course "Bioinformatics: Computer Methods in Molecular Biology" offers lectures and practical sessions on biological sequence analysis as well as an introduction to the major bioinformatics services available worldwide. Participation is free for selected applicants from ICGEB Member States.
